The start of January was a very busy period for us anyway, but then came something totally different when millions of litres of water caused flooding here in Brisbane and many other parts of Qld.

Thankfully the Trade Risk office remained high and dry, but sadly a lot of other people were not so lucky and have suffered enormous losses.

Tradies needed in Queensland

If you've been watching any of the recent coverage you'll have heard the calls for tradies needed here in Brisbane and elsewhere.

Given the devastation there is going to be huge demand for tradies of all sorts, whether it's through volunteer work or the millions of dollars worth of insurance work that will be up for grabs over the coming year or two.

On a lighter note

I hope you all enjoyed a well earned break over the Christmas and New Year period.

During my time away from the office I enjoyed some good times with family and friends, then proceeded to tear up our back yard using my questionable landscaping skills!

I also managed to catch a bit of the cricket on TV, but the less said about the Ashes the better...

What's in store for 2011

Last year we went through some major changes and reached a few milestones, but this year we will be focusing on giving our clients the best possible service and advice, and access to the best insurance products and pricing available.
